Washington State Patrol joined forces with local police in Kings County on Thursday night. During a 12-hour period on St. Patrick’s Day, police arrested 29 drivers for driving under the influence.
This is more than double the usual number of arrests on a Thursday evening, thus far this year.
To add to the normal Thursday evening patrol, four additional troupers were added. King County task force Target Zero was also working Thursday evening. Target Zero consists of 6 troopers and a sergeant.
Target Zero is a combined effort of over 25 police agencies in King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties. Their goals is to decrease the number of deaths caused by drunk driving
