New Year Brings New DUI Laws

Like every legislative session, this January will bring new DUI laws.  Three is the magic number and it appears that there wil be three areas of change.

Three Areas of Change

Marijuana

First, will be a specific limit for the amount of marijuana that can be in your system while driving.

Ignition Interlock Device’s

Second, will be ignition interlock devices (IIDs) for DUI’s involving drugs.

Vehicular Homicide

Third, the vehicle homicide statute will no longer have less punishment for DUI linked fatalities that were committed in a reckless manner.
